Position Summary:  Middle School Wrestling Coach is responsible for implementing and initiating various aspects of the Middle School Wrestling Team including, but not limited to, recruitment, scheduling, and coaching team members.  The Middle School Coach is also to serve as an assistant coach to Junior Varsity and Varsity Coaches at the high school level. 

 

Requirements and Experience:  Must be CHSAA certified and abide by all CHSAA rules, CPR/First Aid certified, as well as CDE certified to drive a 15 person passenger activity bus. Must comply and pass Aurora Public School requirements for finger printing and background check. 

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Schedule practices and training session with the approval of the Athletic Director and communicate the schedule to the Athletic Department.
  • Arrange and communicate travel for games, as well as drive your team to and from destinations safely. All coaches are required to become certified to drive a 15 passenger bus in order to receive full stipend.
  • Recruit student athletes and establish a full team before the start of the season. 7 players must remain eligible for the entire season in order to receive full stipend.
  • Evaluate player skills and assign team positions accordingly.
  • Manage and maintain soccer equipment and uniforms. Must take pre-season and post-season inventory in order to receive full stipend.
  • Attend all required department meetings and relevant events such as end-of-season banquets, team dinners, or other team activities in order to receive full stipend.
  • Fulfill all administrative tasks including student communication and parent communication.
  • Represent LSE and the Wrestling program in a professional manner.
  • Promote the development of the M.S. Wrestling Program by encouraging student and parent participation.
  • Verify student athlete physical examination requirements, parent permission slips, and required Athletic fee.
  • Supervise athlete behavior, grades, and eligibility.
  • Attend high school wrestling tournaments in the role of assistant coach as needed by the JV and Varsity Coaches.

 

Reports to: LSE Athletic Directors and Varsity Wrestling Coach

 

Pay: $1000.00 to be paid at the end of the season if all responsibilities and duties have been fulfilled, as determined by the Athletic Director.
