Position Summary: The Asst. Varsity Cheer Coach is responsible for assisting in the implementation of various aspects of the High School Cheer program including, but not limited to, recruitment, scheduling, and coaching team members.
Requirements and Experience: Must be CHSAA certified and abide by all CHSAA rules, CPR/First Aid certified, as well as CDE certified to drive a 15 passenger activity bus. Must comply and pass Aurora Public School requirements for finger printing and background check.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assists in scheduling practices and training session with the approval of the Head Coach.
- Assists in arranging and communicating travel for games to parents and athletes, as well as helps with driving the team to and from destinations safely in order to receive full stipend.
- Assists in recruiting student athletes and establishing a full team before the start of the season. Must maintain 7 eligible players for the entire season to receive full stipend.
- Assists the Head Coach in evaluating player skills and assigning team positions accordingly.
- Assists in managing and maintaining cheer equipment and uniforms. Must take pre-season and post-season inventory in order to receive full stipend.
- Attends all required department meetings, events, and fundraisers (must attend a minimum of 4 athletic fundraising events, 3 of which must be Bronco’s games). This includes end-of-season banquets, team dinners, or other team activities in order to receive full stipend.
- Assists in fulfilling administrative tasks including student communication, parent communication, and scheduling necessary parent meetings.
- Represents LSE and the H.S. cheer program in a professional manner.
- Promotes the development of the H.S. Cheer Program by encouraging student and parent participation.
- Assists in verifying student athlete physical examination requirements, parent permission slips, and payment of required athletic fee.
- Assists in supervising athlete behavior, grades, and eligibility as asked by the Head Coach.
Reports to: Varsity Cheer Head Coach and LSE Athletic Directors
Pay: Payment will be $1250.00 to be paid at the end of the season if all listed responsibilities and duties have been fulfilled, as determined by the Head Coach and Athletic Directors. |
