CLDE Coordinator (Secondary 6–12)

Position Summary

Lotus School for Excellence is seeking a dynamic and equity-driven CLDE Coordinator (Secondary 6-12) to lead multilingual learner (MLL) programming and instructional improvement across content areas. This role ensures high-quality dedicated and embedded English Language Development (ELD) aligned to WIDA standards while supporting teachers through coaching and professional learning.

This position includes one class period of ELD instruction daily to model best practices and maintain direct impact on student learning.

Essential Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership & Coaching

  • Lead implementation of embedded ELD strategies across all secondary content areas
  • Coach teachers through co-planning, observations, and feedback cycles
  • Facilitate professional development and PLCs focused on language development
  • Support the use of Content Language Objectives (CLOs) and structured student discourse

Program Management (6–12)

  • Oversee Dedicated ELD programming, curriculum, and instructional practices
  • Ensure appropriate placement and services for multilingual learners
  • Support onboarding and development of ELD teachers

Assessment & Data

  • Analyze ACCESS data to monitor growth and identify student needs
  • Lead redesignation processes and progress monitoring for current and former ELs
  • Ensure compliance with state and district requirements for identification and services

Scheduling & Systems

  • Lead ELD scheduling, roster development, and course placement
  • Collaborate on the master schedule to ensure effective ELD programming
  • Support intake, screening, and placement of new students

Family & Community Engagement

  • Communicate with families regarding ELD services, progress, and ACCESS results
  • Coordinate interpretation and translation supports

Collaboration & Advocacy

  • Partner with MTSS, Special Education, counselors, and leadership teams
  • Advocate for equitable access and appropriate services for multilingual learners
  • Contribute to school improvement planning and data cycles

Direct Instruction

  • Teach one period of ELD (grades 6–12) daily or provide Intervention.
  • Model high-quality language instruction aligned to WIDA standards

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License
  • CLDE/ELL endorsement (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • Master’s Degree in CLDE or Related Field
  • Experience working with multilingual learners
  • Strong understanding of language development and instructional best practices

Preferred:

  • Instructional coaching or teacher leadership experience
  • Experience in diverse, Title I school settings
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
